We bring kindness, support, respite, and joy to families and children in need.
The mission of Give One Dollar a Day is to help ease the financial burden of children and families affected by illness, poverty, or isolation through ongoing community giving.
We started Give One Dollar a Day after witnessing many families at the hospital suffer, not just the unbearable pain of watching their child endure serious illness, but also struggle with additional, everyday life stressors.
“The larger problems of pediatric oncology, epilepsy, heart disease, prematurity, organ failure and chronic illness, are beyond the scope of our (social work) practice, but we do address the fear and other raw emotions these families experience. What Give One Dollar a Day fulfills are the urgent needs: to maintain stable housing, keep the lights and phones on, provide gas money, and spread joy among a family with a meaningful experience.”

“The check from Give One Dollar a Day kept them in their house, and the thank you from the mother… I wish you could hear the thanks in her voice as she cried and said, From the bottom of my heart, I don’t know how to thank you. Thank you.”
